About the brand

A quiet confidence in what feels right.

In Japanese, Sensu (センス) means taste, intuition, or refined sense. At Sensu, we honour the timeless rituals of Japanese culture through contemporary tools crafted for the modern hand.

Every bowl, cup and whisk we offer is designed with purpose — to bring stillness, clarity, and beauty into your daily ritual. Our products blend traditional forms with modern materials, from handcrafted ceramics to clear, minimal glass.

“Elegance lies in intention, and even the smallest moment can become a practice of presence.”

Sense, written in dots.

Sensu means taste, intuition, refined sense. It is the quiet confidence in what feels right.

Our wordmark is written in Braille — a tactile script that turns reading into a heightened sense. Each piece we make is an invitation to read the world through touch, light, and stillness.

The same way Braille translates letters into touch, we translate ritual into objects: cups, whisks, bowls, trays — each crafted to slow the morning down.

How to whisk matcha, the Sensu way.

A good cup of matcha is not difficult — it is patient. The chasen does most of the work; you mostly need to stop hurrying.

    Warm the chawan.

Pour hot water into the bowl, swirl, then discard.

  2. Sift the matcha.Step 02

    Sift the matcha.

Add 1–2 g of matcha through a fine sieve.

  3. Add water.Step 03

    Add water.

60–70 ml of water at 70–80°C.

  4. Whisk.Step 04

    Whisk.

A light W-motion for 15–20 seconds, until soft foam appears.
